Assortment of Asian ingredients

Ever had the urge to make Pad Thai or Vietnamese Spring Rolls but couldn't find the right ingredients?

If you are looking for authentic Asian ingredients and a little culinary guidance, you'll be delighted to know that your search is over.

The following is a list of the best Asian markets in Miami:

•  MC Oriental American Grocery - Tucked away in a small strip mall along West Dixie Highway in North Miami, this Asian market offers great finds for a great price. The owners are extremely helpful and offer tons of cooking tips. Located: 17035 W. Dixie Hwy, North Miami, 33160. (305) 945-2355
• PK Oriental Market - This charming market has everything from Asian spices and sauces to candy. Shop for live fish and fresh meats while you listen to serene Chinese music. Located: 255 NE 167th St., Miami, 33162. (305) 654-9646
• Vinh an Oriental Market - Also located in North Miami, this Vietnamese market has fresh produce and a myriad of other authentic Asian ingredients. You can also find cooking utensils and tea sets. The staff is more than happy to help. Located: 372 NE 167th St., Miami,  33162. (305) 948-8860
• Japanese Market -  A favorite of many, this market features fresh sushi and a good assortment of essential Japanese ingredients. The sushi bar is closed on Mondays. Located: 1412 79th St. Causeway, North Bay Village, 33141 . (305) 861-0143
• Lucky Oriental Mart - Not known for great customer service, this small market carries a good selection of basic Asian ingredients. You can also find cheap cookware. Located: 8356 SW 40th St., Suite D-1, Miami, 33155. (305) 220-2838              

Tip: There is a great stretch of Asian markets in North Miami along 167th and 163rd streets. The options are almost limitless. If these markets are too far from where you live, make it a point to visit a few of them once you do make it up to North Miami.
