On April 27th, Eric Prescott, founder of the Boston Vegan Association , will be coming to Omaha to interview a (currently unknown) vegan in an effort to defeat myths about veganism in his new documentary "I'm Vegan."
I've had the chance to speak with Prescott on a number of issues and am happy to see his influence coming to our city.  I was initially impressed by the principle of the Boston Vegan Association which "fosters, supports, and educates Boston’s vegan community, and publicly advocates veganism as the only consistent way to commit to the belief that it is wrong to cause animals unnecessary harm."

This approach differs from groups which often state "Vegetarian/vegan" as their preferred diet, asking people to eliminate certain types of animal products rather than the actual amount let alone advocating an animal-free diet altogether.  As my readers have come to know, I encourage the abolition of animal use rather than what may appear to be gradual steps toward animal liberation.  Prescott is also the writer for the award winning Animal Friendly Life blog.

I'll be reporting on this again in April when Prescott and his team arrive.
