The 2nd Annual NY Craft Beer Week starts today.
Find a list of featured events on the official events page.
Just a quick handicap of what I would recommend:
- The Gotham Cask Fest that launches today and lasts through to Sunday is a must attend event. Once a firkin is kicked it will not be replaced, so to ensure you get the best of the best, attend as early in the weekend as possible (that means TODAY!). My guess is that the selection at Jimmy's No. 43 will probably go the fastest, so I'd suggest making that your first stop.
- Any Oskar Blues event is always a good time. I especially would say it's hard to turn down a free tasting on Friday, September 18th at Whole Foods.
- I've gotten an inside tip that the Homebrewers Tour is all booked up for tomorrow, but if you already have your reservation, you know homebrew events are the unsung hero of any beer week.
- The Bell House features Flight Club on the 14th. Beer and cheese pairings at good prices.
- Sam Calagione at Blind Tiger? It's a rookie beer fest fan's wet dream! But you also have a Stone Meet the Brewer event at Ginger Man! Touch decisions for September 15th!
- September 16th features half-price pints at Chelsea or meet Chuck Silva of Green Flash.
- Bear Republic at The Ginger Man is definitely the pick of the night for the 17th.
- Chuck Silva is still around for September 18th.
That's what caught my eye in a quick rundown, but I would highly recommend any and all events.
