This Thursday, July 9th is Ithaca Night at Barcade in Brooklyn.
I had the pleasure of sitting down with Dan Mitchell, the founder of the Ithaca Beer Company, during Philly Beer Week and he is an enthusiastic, incredibly nice guy with some great beers to boot. At the risk of giving into their play on words, the fruity Cascazilla does maintain a great "cask ale-like" flavor even off the taps and if you've yet to try Ithaca's mouthful of hops known as Flower Power IPA, you've yet to experience how good a Northeastern brewer can compete with those powerful IPAs from other parts of the country.

Alphalpha - 8.5% ABV - Imperial IPA
Apricot Wheat - 4.9% - Apricot and wheat
Brute - 6.5% - Belgian style Wild Ale
Cascazilla - 7.0% - Hoppy, American Amber
Eleven - ABV unknown (yet), brewed for the brewery's 11th anniversary, this year
Flower Power (cask) - 8.0% - Great, hoppy IPA on cask, a rare treat
Partly Sunny - 5.3% - Belgian style Witbier
Pils - 5.5% - German Pilsener
Ten - 10.0% - American Strong Ale, brewed for the brewery's 10th anniversary, last year
White Gold - 8.0% - Strong, Pale Wheat beer
