Last week, I reported that Sixpoint Craft Ales, the small Brooklyn-based brewery with a number of noteworthy beers, has been expanding into the Philadelphia craft beer market.
Well, now it's official. Via a Sixpoint posted Facebook event, I (and everyone else) was invited to "What's the 411? The answer is PHILLY!"
Tomorrow, Saturday, April 11, marks the "official" Sixpoint Craft Ales launch in Philadelphia. "Over 30-plus bars are proudly pouring our beer," states the invite. Quite an impressive feat for a little known New York-based brewer.
The event is "whistle-stop tour" style featuring events at six bars and "a grand finale at a 7th bar!" Supposedly each of the first 6 locations will feature a different Sixpoint brew (though they don't tell us what). Here's the itinerary:
11am-1pm - Grey Lodge (6235 Frankford Avenue).
1:30-2:15 - The Khyber (56 S 2nd St)
2:30 - 3:15 - Vesuvio's (736 S 8th St)
3:30 - 4:15 - Ten Stone (2063 South St)
4:30 - 5:15 - Fergie's (1214 Sansom St)
5:30- 6:15 - Bishop's Collar (2349 Fairmount Ave)
The grand finale will start at 6:30 at Capone's (224 W Germantown Pike in Norristown). I'm not sure how you are supposed to get there in 15 minutes, or without risking a DUI no less, but if you do make it, you'll find 8 Sixpoint beers on tap: Bengali Tiger, Brownstone, Dubbel Trubbel, Mason Black Wheat, Otis (nitro), Righteous Ale, Sweet Action and Vienna Pale Ale.
Hey, Sixpoint! Don't forget about us here in New York!! You could have held a sister event for us! Jerks.
