The 2009 California State Poker Championship is well underway at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles, California.  The 24 event series kicked off on April 30th and concludes with the $5,100 No-Limit Hold 'em Championship Event on May 22nd.

The CSPC, which was held is September last year, has grown since it started in 2003.  With more events, different formats and variety of buy-in levels, it offers tournaments for every player.  In addition, the main event has been upped to a $5,100 buy-in as opposed to $1,500.

The Championship, which was won in the past by actor Ben Affleck, promises to be one of the best tournaments around.  Tournament Director Matt Savage provides the best structures and most play at the Commerce Casino.  The recent L.A. Poker Classic was a huge success and is a reflection of how much players like Savage's structures.
