Would I lie to you? Idea-man and literary carnival barker Gabe Levinson wants you to check out his bike.

The Book Bike, an ice-cream cart turned Bookmobile, has been making the rounds in Chicago parks every Saturday since July 5th, where Levinson gives away new, hardcover books from your favorite publishers for FREE. The catch? All you gotta do is read. He wants readers to become more intimately involved with the dynamic literary community in Chicago. And since I know yous guys are a literate bunch, check out the recent press on Levinson's endeavor.

Check out last week's Sunday Tribune by this Duffer guy. There were some great pix in print that didn't make it to the web. Also, check out Alicia Eler's preview in TimeOut Chicago Books. To learn more about Levinson's curious community-building endeavor, go to Something To Read.

Thanks for reading.

The Book Bike will be making the rounds at Lollapalooza and/or Horner Park this Saturday, August 2nd.
