In an on-going effort to promote and support local businesses that support our wonderful gay community, I introduce Diane Petkoff of Tasty Jewelry.  While Ms. Petkoff isn’t a native Austinite (and, really, is there any such thing?) she did get here as quickly as she could from Chicago, IL. to pursue her desire for designing creative jewelry and decorative home items.  Her jewelry is contemporary with a mod and chic sensibility. Clean lines and retro color combinations make each collection burst with flavor.  And while the jewelry, admittedly, isn’t actually edible, it most certainly IS tasty!

One of the most interesting aspects of Tasty Jewelry is that the various collections of items change seasonally bringing fresh and unique designs.  In addition to an array of items to decorate your ears, neck, fingers, and hair, Ms. Petkoff also has a few items for your four-legged friends.  You could spend days browsing her reasonably priced items and be decorated from head-to-toe, AND front door-to-kitchen.

Show your support for this wonderful advocate of the gay community by checking her out at the Hyatt Regency on the Marker 10 patio from 12 pm – 2 pm this Saturday, May 30th.  This show is free to the public, and since it’s a small event you’ll have plenty of time to be charmed by this delightful woman.

Already have plans for this weekend?  Not to worry.  Tasty Jewelry will also be showing at Rare Magazine’s 2nd annual “Rarest of them All” show at The Long Center on Wednesday, June 3rd from 6 pm – 10 pm.

And, as always, Tasty Jewelry can be found at First Thursdays in the parking lot of Guerro’s Taco Bar.

Lastly, if you JUST CAN’T WAIT to see the best that Tasty Jewelry has to offer, you can check out a large selection of her items at Tasty Jewelry's etsy store online.

And to read about other straight-owned businesses that support our community, read about Karisa Prestera down at the Taste No Evil Muffin, Co.  muffin trolley!
