Tacoma Tide FC have turned their season around and are now playing very well and getting victories in their home fortress at Curtis High School. (See video highlights of recent matches below).
Tacoma Tide FC News Release
Tacoma have a pair of rematches coming up this weekend at Curtis High School. On Friday night the Tide will welcome in the Abbotsford Mariners (3-7-2), a rematch of the May 30th meeting, which the Tide won 3-1 behind Rory Agu’s two goals.
The Mariners are coming of an impressive 6-0 home victory over the Yakima Reds, just two weeks after falling to the Reds 6-1.
On Sunday the Tide will host another team from north of the border when they take on the Victoria Highlanders (3-6-4). The Tide will look to erase the sour taste left in their mouth from the June 7th match between these teams. The Tide fell behind quickly after allowing a goal in the 3rd minute, and by halftime they were down 5-1 before going on to lose 6-3, the most goals they have given up in a match since June 15, 2007 when they were shutout by the BYU Cougars 6-0.
The Tide currently are currently in sixth in the Northwest Division with 16 points. Victoria (13 points) and Abbotsford (11 points) sit directly behind them in the standings, making these must-win matches if the Tide want any chance of making the PDL playoffs.
The Tide need to finish in the top three to make the playoffs. After this weekend the Tide will have two more matches. They will travel south to take on the Cascade Surge before wrapping the season up at home against the first-place Kitsap Pumas.
