Electricity and steam are this week’s main focus with two must have releases.
First up is the Playstation 3 exclusive inFamous, developed by Sucker Punch. Let me paint you a picture: Grand Theft Auto IV and Star Wars: Force Unleashed are on a date. Things are going well, but then Fable calls GTA IV and wants to hang out. As much as Force Unleashed is annoyed, GTA IV tells Fable to meet them at GTA IV’s apartment. When they get there, Fable also brought his buddy Crackdown with a case of Pabst Blue Ribbon and a bottle of cheap rum. Despicable acts ensue. Nine months later, Force Unleashed gives birth to inFamous!
With the open world realism of GTA; the building scaling, rooftop jumping insanity of Crackdown; the choice to be good or evil and an appearance that reflects those choices from Fable; and, of course, the sick control of lightning from Force Unleashed, inFamous is an epic waiting for its fame. Available today for the Playstation 3, inFamous cannot be missed by any gamer.
While the last game focused on electricity, Damnation looks to the alternative. Based on the Steampunk theory, which asks the question what if everything utilized steam instead of electricity; Damnation takes place in what would seem to be the civil war era. Instead, it is present day if the war had never ended and the use of steam was favored over the electric world we have today. A must have for any fan of Steampunk, but a good time for any other gamer interested in the genre. Damnation releases today for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
