The 2008-2009 Rainfall season will come to an end at the end of June.  The season runs form July 1st until June 30th.  With little if any rain expected between now and the end of the month, this years rainfall season will finish about 7" below normal. When you consider we only average about 15" you can see we are quite dry again this year.  LADWP started water rationing this month and many other local water agencies are doing the same.  But lack of rain is not the only thing this year keeping our water tables down.  Recently I interviewed Laurence Budd,  A Certified Water Auditor.  He explains some of the other reasons that are causing a shortage of water in Southern California.  He also provides some simple advice on things we can do inside and outside our homes to get through the dry summer.
