Slowly but surely, we're getting our nice spring weather. If you love to entertain, your thoughts are already turning to those outdoor parties you can have. With the recession still taking a bite out of everyone's bank account, having friends over is de rigeur. Cinco de Mayo is the next up excuse to celebrate, so get ready, and keep these tips in mind:
- Have more than one type of beverage available -- not everyone likes beer, not everyone likes margaritas. One of each is good.
- And throw in some sodas or sparkling water for the non-drinkers attending.
- Switch it up -- Corona is a trusty standby, but try Negra Modelo, Dos Equis, or Bohemia -- all tasty.
- Skip the prefab margarita mixes from the grocery store. Serve those, and your guests won't stick around long enough to smack the pinata. Find some fresh margarita and mojito recipes online, or ask trusted sources for recipes or sites.
- Speaking of pinatas, why not get one? Fill it with candy, grab a broom, smack away and scramble for candy.
- Provide appetizers and snacks throughout your event -- keep your guests full.
Happy Spring, enjoy those parties! Ole!
