As usual the people spoke and voted down what they know is wrong. The sanctity of marriage and God's design for the institution  is not  a rejection of  gay people in America. it is upholding what is right  and every time the issue has come to a vote, the issue of marriage  between one man and one woman is upheld. Where same-sex marriage has been passed it was by activist judges who acted only out of their "so called" progressive thinking. That's whats wrong about forcing a "religion" on the people. It is what the Founding Father's meant by a separation of church and state. That one sexual preference does not rule the masses. I'm not kidding about this one. When sex becomes your religion or your god- and it does not go your way you say stupid things like;

"It was the anti-gay ads that scared people." Or If "President Obama came out with a strong gay marriage statement" it would have been different. Just what if the voter is not scared by political ads, and what if President Obama doesn't REALLY support gay marriage? If it was the right thing to do no scary ads or Presidential silence could stop it. But that is the point! It is not the right thing to do and it is an assault on the traditional family to try to force it on our culture and our communities. So please- stop blaming other people and as you like to say "get use to it."

I'm sorry to be so blunt about this but it is tiresome and a waste of time to bemoan the issue. As written in the "20 Questions" column and from some of the readers comments few cases or stats could give a reason for gay marriage. Since our culture has failed to make marriage a lifetime commitment, it is heterosexual couples who have made a tragic mockery out of the institution. From that standpoint it is easy to see why gay folk believe that they can hijack the institution.

We all should feel a burden for this miscalculation and take a stand for marriage as God designed it. There will probably be someone out there who will wrongly call that a hateful and bigoted statement- but read it again slowly and take in what I said. We are responsible not the anti-gay ads, or Obama unwilling to make a strong statement. It is the average American voter pressing the lever, filling out the ballot, and taking a courageous stand for an institution that takes more pot-shots than any other  group in our day! Yes they are the real minority the folks that are taking their vows seriously, through sickness and in health, richer, (and in these days a tad) poorer. Here's to you bride and groom! Faithful real marrieds of genius! (sorry Budweiser) Oh yeah- and we vote!
