What do people experience from your church and ministry? How do you reach beyond the walls, the intersection, and the proper address of your mission? You possibly tried to advertise on radio, flyers, door hangers, and even perhaps TV but the results were "underwhelming." Your reach seemed to only fill air-instead of "fillling the air."
There are the mega-churches who have found how to "Brand" evangelism-yet many people find that way impersonal and non-relational. Yet messaging by using technology is what is needed more so to reach people beyond your walls. Integrating your mission with media and markets will allow the Great Commission to be read, heard, and seen without the fear of a salesman hoping for his own "great commission."
The ministry website becomes a mission media hub in that way. From there you can engage the culture, further ministry and reach people you never dreamed of. I am producing a program by a Denver Pastor that is dealing with tough issues like Human Trafficking, Marriage, Gay Rights, and Homelessness in Denver and beyond. It is a show geared toward the college aged and young adult market. the host is Pastor-author Josh Weidmann and through an agreement with Salem Broadcasting in Colorado Springs and Envoytown Station on 365-Live the message is hope for involvement. The only hope for the church to rise above brick and mortar is for people to "be the church" in the community.
No longer can the church be limited to its own property. The nice manicured landscape, the painted and shiny steeple with the cross, the varnished pews, the stained glass is not the epitome of the "rebuilt temple!" it is the Body of Christ which is the rebuilt temple in our community and beyond the walls! It is the interview, the man on the street, the Rescue Mission and just an invite to dinner, a cup of coffee, and it is media and arts that reach beyond the walls.
