HIGH FIVE!
Here are 5 shows you'll see me at this comedy packed week:
Year One at The Music Box Theatre
Tuesday, June 16th 8pm
It's a special festival screening AND a Lifetime Achievement Award Presentation for Harold Ramis in recognition of his 30 years in film. I KNOW. It's a movie about Jack Black and Michael Cera as lazy hunter-gatherers... but their "epic" journey has potential. But then again I liked Mel Brooks' "History of the World".
The Unaired Bozo Circus Parody at The Lakeshore Theater
Wednesday, June 17th 8:30pm
Robert Smigel and Dino Stamatopoulos will be on hand to present the original TV Funhouse pilot. It was a parody of Chicago beloved Bozo's Circus. It was demented. They will also screen many other controversial clips AND Triumph the Insult Comic Dog may also put in an appearance.
Andy Dick's One Man Show at The Lakeshore Theater
Thursday, June 18th 10:30pm
Andy had to cancel a recent appearance at The Lakeshore Theatre for mysterious reasons. We just wanna see if he shows. His one man is supposed to be about being sober and has been called Andy Kaufman-esqu. We'll see...
Bob Odenkirk's Best of Sketchfest at iO Chicago
Friday, June 19th at Midnight
What do you get when you take Bob Odenkirk, toss in excitable Best Of Sketchfest performers, and serve the whole thing up with a side of late-night loopiness? Mayhem, that’s what. Rumor has it that Mort Burke, Cupid Players, and who know who else will be there. I will for sure.
Lisa Lampanelli at The Chicago Theatre
Saturday, June 20th at 7pm
I fell in love with Lisa during our interview for this event. I hope she will sign my boobs. She is the 'Lovable Queen of Mean" and I love every truly filthy word that comes out of her sick mouth.
Oh yeah, There is also Ellen's Variety Show (with Kanye West), Martin Short, Jimmy Fallon, David Alan Grier, Tim Meadows, Messing With a Friend, Paul Provenza... you name it.
This week rules.
