Chicago Underground Comedy Presents "Sean Flannery Unlimited" May 5, 2009

Chicago Underground Comedy (aka "ChUC") presents "Sean Flannery Unlimited," at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at the Beat Kitchen (2100 W. Belmont, near Damen), in Chicago. The show will be free - no cover charge.

"Sean Flannery Unlimited" is the third in a series of shows designed to give Chicago Underground Comedy's most powerful performers special extra-long sets. Flannery will headline this show with 45 minutes of his best material. Opening acts include CJ Sullivan, his Visitors Locker Room show co-host (who Flannery calls "the most hilarious person I know"), frequent VLR guest and comic Mark Vana, and successful road comic Mike Stanley, who has what Flannery describes as a "a great, unpretentious and hilarious approach" to stand-up.

The theme of the show, in Flannery's words, is "my jack assery. I have electrocuted myself unconscious three times -- once during a job interview. I was run over by a van on my ex-girlfriend's lawn; drove a car off a bridge; fell off a four story roof; have been fired from over 20 jobs and am, generally, lucky to be alive and employed." Flannery will enhance his storytelling stand-up style with photos, animation, video and other multimedia, and will be refining the show and taking it to new venues in the future.

Flannery is a founding member of Chicago Underground Comedy and Blerds, and has been performing stand-up in Chicago for over 6 years, gracing the stages at the Lincoln Lodge, the Lakeshore Theater, and elsewhere. Outside of Chicago, he's performed at the DC Comedy Festival, UCB Theater (LA and New York), The Improv, and Caroline's, in New York. His sports/comedy radio show, the Visitors Locker Room , has been broadcast on Sirius Radio, and his crazy job stories have even made ABC World News, where he told the tale of interviewing at the wrong company.

**The Beat Kitchen is a 21-and-over club, and for this night, the show will be free - no cover charge**

Blerds video of Sean Flannery is here, photos from ChUC can be seen here, and a sexy montage of most of ChUC's current cast members and some guest comics is here.

Chicago Underground Comedy is produced by rising stand-up star Dan Telfer, who recently opened for Maria Bamford and Paul F. Tompkins at the Lakeshore Theater, and Elizabeth McQuern, who spoke about ChUC on Chicago Public Radio, and was profiled in Time Out Chicago .

The show features today's best and brightest up-and-coming talent as well as returning guests including Chicago comedians who have found showbiz success on the coasts. Recent guests and alum include SNL and Colbert Report -featured Comedy Central writer Kumail Nanjiani, Letterman writer Kevin McCaffrey, Cloverfield star TJ Miller, John Roy (Craig Ferguson Show, Tonight Show With Jay Leno), John Mulaney (VH1, Comedians of Comedy), and Hannibal Buress (Craig Ferguson Show).
