Time to start scouting for Samoas
There are some things you’ll never forget from your childhood. For some, it’s their worst middle school photo. For others, their first handmade present to a grandparent. For me, it’s the memory of coming home from a Sunday trip to Giant and eating an entire box of Samoas. Ahh, memories…and I wonder why I couldn’t wear youth clothing.
In some states, today marks the official start of Girl Scout cookie sales, including the newest team member, Dulce de Leche - a “Latin-inspired flavor with milk caramel chips in a lightly spiced cinnamon cookie.” Ask your neighborhood's pusher man for more information on prices and flavors... I know I will be.
I was once a Junior Girl Scout in my former life, but I couldn’t get past the idea that my boxes of Samoas were for distribution, not for personal consumption. Although I’ve retired from the biz, I’ve never stopped appreciating the hard work those little women put into their cookie sales. I’m honored to have been apart of something that promotes female empowerment, leadership, and teamwork.
When I saw this awesome tee on MTV’s new series Daddy’s Girls, I instantly fell in love with it. This particular store isn’t affiliated with the official shop of the Girl Scouts of the USA, but I look at it this way: (1) the company had to ask permission to sell merchandise with their logo on it, and (2) when you see the tee on someone walking down the street, it’s not gonna make you want to shop their website… it’s gonna make you want to find your nearest Girl Scout cookie distributor.
