VCL

You may be asking yourself, who is Shaun Burkowski and what in the world does he do? I had that same question. But his reputation preceded my conversation with him, as Shaun has quite the loyal following on YouTube, MySpace, and Facebook. When I did finish talking to the budding entrepreneur/ fashion designer/ music producer, my next question became, “What isn’t this guy doing?”

Shaun is the President and Creative Director for a Baltimore and Atlanta based fashion label named Vintage Clothing Limited (VCL). Launched in May of 2007, VCL specializes in the street wear boutique market featuring Limited Edition Art prints on premium Cut & Sew apparel. VCL has an online store that caters to customers from around the world, including shoppers in Germany, England, Switzerland, and Austria.

Aside from running a clothing store, he sponsors several music artists and stays active in the music scene. Shaun unites his two great loves, music and fashion, quite often. He used his musical background to launch VCL via concert. Over 300 fans and loads of underground hip-hop artists flew in from around the country to perform at the celebration. In addition, whenever Shaun’s talent performs in some of D.C. and Baltimore's hottest nightclubs, (such as LOVE and Sonar, respectively) he sets up an on-site store to sell his clothing line.

If you thought his plate was full from just these two jobs, think again. Shaun also produces music for the voice of young America, MTV. He creates songs for Bunim-Murray (producers of the Real World (RW), Road Rules (RR), and RW vs. RR Challenge) to feature on their programs. He even won an album for “Compilation Album of the Year” from Sphereofhiphop.com.

I think it’s safe to assume great things will come from this young man. Who knows, in 20 years he might be the star of a VH1 or MTV reality show where people compete to be his apprentice.

It could happen. I’ve predicted it before.
