Gucci’s Spring 2009 Collection for Men- stripes, prints, florals, and the color blue.

Gentlemen, gone are the days of waking up in the morning, crawling out of bed, walking over to your closet, and blindly finding a shirt and a pair of trousers to wear to work. In today’s world, your appearance at your workplace can either make you a partner or make you an assistant. Why? Because your attire speaks volumes about your credibility.

Today’s the day to start considering what you wear to work ahead of time, say, when you’re out at the mall with your lady and she’s begging you to try something on at Nordstrom’s. Stock up on apparel for yourself while you’re shopping on Saturday mornings with your woman (otherwise known as your relationship community service time). It will make the time go by faster, and she’ll be delighted that you’re interested in your appearance.J.S. Edwards

 J.S. Edwards

My recommendation for the fellas in Baltimore is to start by visiting a tailored, sophisticated men's store, like J.S. Edwards. Take baby steps into taking your wardrobe into a new direction (after all, changing your shopping patterns and attitude about visiting the mall is a feat in itself).

Also, instead of matching the ever abundant pair of black pants with a crisp white shirt and red tie, add some color into the mix. Take a cue from Gucci’s Spring 2009 Collection for Men (pictured above). Incorporate fine striped suits, bold printed ties, and faint florals into your personal collection. Blue is all the rage right now and will continue to be, so consider it an investment. Unlike tangerine orange or maroon, it’s a color that will never go out of style.
