Hilary RhodaHilary Rhoda 2

Supermodel Hilary Rhoda (born Hilary St. Claire on April 6, 1987)  hails from Chevy Chase. She is currently represented by global top modeling agency IMG. Prior to her career as a model, Rhoda attended and graduated from the Academy of the Holy Cross, a Catholic all-girls' school in her native Maryland. She was a member of the field hockey and lacrosse team.

In her short career, she has appeared in advertising campaigns with Balenciaga, Valentino, and Dolce & Gabbana, to name a few. She has also graced the covers of American Vogue, W, Vogue Paris, British Harper's Bazaar, and even TIME magazine. Rhoda is often compared to a young Brooke Shields because of her heavy eyebrows, towering height, and pale blue eyes.

In January 2007, Hilary signed an exclusive contract with Estée Lauder as their newest face. In April of this year, after earning at an estimated total of $2 million in 2007, Forbes named her fourteenth in the list of the World's 15 Top-Earning Supermodels.

Liris Crosse 1Liris Crosse 2

Model Liris Crosse is a native of Baltimore, loved by men and women alike for her statuesque form, cat-like eyes, and signature full lips. She is currently represented by east coast giant Wilhelmina Models, but in the beginning of her career Liris received rejection after rejection due to her voluptuous shape. The industry did not know how to market her body, forcing Liris to become her own agent. It turned out to be a highly successful move.

Utilizing the urban market to achieve her dreams, Liris booked top music videos with pop artists such as 98 Degrees, Jennifer Lopez, Diddy, and Jay-Z, to name a few. Shortly after, she graced the pages of Essence, Honey, Glamour, Seventeen, YM and Girl magazine, who requested Liris for editorial and commercial layouts. She received modeling deals with Lane Bryant, Ashley Stewart, Pelle Pelle, Karl Kani and Davouchi campaigns. Liris even crossed over into acting, appearing in movies such as “The Best Man” and the Spike Lee’s “The Inside Man.”

What we have learned from these long and lean beauties is this: If you know someone in Maryland has who could have potential in the modeling industry, support them. Applaud them. And for heaven’s sake, don’t tell them no one in Maryland ever made it to the big time.
