In my heyday, oh say, three years ago, I was a party animal (and at 19 years old, who isn’t)? I partied in the cutest of minidresses and five-inch heels in D.C. until the sun came up and it was time for me to make the hour drive back up to White Marsh.
When I turned 20 though, two things hit my body hard: old age and maturity (and unfortunately, my mother tells me the best years have yet to come). I couldn’t party all night in D.C. anymore not just because it wasn’t safe to stay out all hours of the night, but my arthritic knees were killing me! And my feet! Oh jeez! Ladies, whether you party all night to this very day or not, I’m sure you can remember…there is NOTHING more painful than galloping slowly back to your car after leaving a party. Between the cold air hitting your legs and the excruciating pain from your five toes supporting your entire body, you don’t know which pain will motivate you to run first. And driving a stick shift in five-inchers? Forget about it.
