There was a candlelight vigil held in honor of Walter that took place at North County High School that was full of love, great memories, tears and laughter. Students, family and friends that wanted to speak to the crowd stood on top of a parked car and told stories of how they first met Walter, how he inspired them in some way, and how much he will be missed, but not forgotten.
The principal at North County High School, Frank Drazan, sent this letter to all students:
All the world's your stage Walter. May you rest in peace and keep your shining star smiling down on us.
