"Currently my currency is less.. than enough,
But I don't let it bring me down, I'm headed up,
My head is up, my laser locked on,
So I hit the block daily just to tell myself I'm not on.
I never compromise, I got a winner's eyes,
So if you slip up, knock knock in the eye,
To take your spot what I gots what you have,
I grind 'til I'm in the ground, in a box, dead."
- S-Preme "Go Hard"
Preme's flow is incredible throughout the above conclusion of the first verse. His flow has always been on point but what "Go Hard" illustrates in the artist's growth is through S-Preme's extra level of delivery and its appropriate match with the production. This is true Chicago hip hop sound and uplifting lyrics from a fast-rising wordsmith that is really gonna break out with ST2. Get on the bandwagon now - download above and stay tuned 2 GWHH for more S-Preme later this week!
But I couldn't get away without discussing the debut of ST2's cover. It's flat out the dopest cover of the year (Kid Cudi's MOTM is a close 2nd) as S-Preme tapped internet 'tape' artist "iri5" for the mixtape cover. The artist has previously designed likenesses of Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan using the black tape from a cassette and uses the same technique to depict S-Preme on what now becomes a CD cover. Presentation is everything and S-Preme understood that and invested in a cover that 100% succeeds in illustrating his personality through an evocative and powerful image. Big ups 2 all parties involved. Enjoy!
