It's what sustains us, gives us energy, and even makes us smarter. That's why there is a day dedicated to chewing the fat, literally and figuratively. October 21, 2009 has been proclaimed "Aunt Jemima Frozen Breakfast Day" in Philadelphia.
On Wednesday, October 21, 2009, the students at Franklin S. Edmonds Elementary School will be taught "the importance of [eating] a well-balanced breakfast" and how doing so, can result in better academic performance.
Philadelphia schools, along with certified nutritionists, food experts and Aunt Jemima Frozen Breakfast have joined forces to educate students on eating smart to be smart.
There will be a pancake-decorating workshop so students can literally play with their food before consuming it! Encouraging kids to eat a breakfast while having a little fun will make them less likely to skip this important meal and get them on track for a “successful day at school!”
If you're interested in helping to support this program, purchasing Aunt Jemima products in Philadelphia will do the trick.
