This pink scooter lady raised over $11k for cancer charities.
In my routine of checking all my Internet sources for scooter-related news, I came across  this heartwarming story of a scooterist using her preferred mode of two-wheeled transport as a way to raise money for cancer research.

But scooter philanthropy is hardly a new thing. Scooter-Relief.org, a Denver-based nonprofit that works in cooperation with the Jedi Knights Scooter Club, has stepped in for scooterists in need since the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Most recently, the organization raised more than twice the originally-requested goal of $1,000 for Steve Sellers of P-Town scooters, who was hospitalized for congestive heart failure.

The scooter community is about so much more than rallies, poker runs and tricking out your ride. There is a great spirit of generosity among those who ride, one that deserves more recognition.
