The Fourth at The Rock is always spectacular

Stone Mountain Park stages an annual 3-day Fourth of July Celebration, and quite frankly, it’s always spectacular and moving. So much so that USA Today included Stone Mountain Park as one of the Top 12 Must-See Fireworks Shows Across the Country. Other notable locations included Branson, MO., Chicago, Mount Rushmore and Las Vegas.

If you’ve never experienced the Fourth of July at Stone Mountain Park, you may want to load up the kids, make the 45 minute drive from the northside and head to the "Big Rock" to spend the entire day. A one-day Adventure Pass guarantees a full day for your family with access to all of Stone Mountain Park’s attractions, including the Great Locomotive Chase Adventure Golf, the scenic train ride, the Summit Skyride, the Antebellum Plantation & Farmyard and museums. Other kid-friendly attractions include The Great Barn, Sky Hike and the all-new Journey to the Center of the Earth 4-D Movie.

The Lasershow Spectacular will happen nightly around 9:30 PM on July 3rd, 4th and 5th, to be followed by a spectacular fireworks display each night. Our family has celebrated the Fourth at The Rock several years in a row, and it is never disappointing. In fact, the entire show and fireworks spectacular will give you goosebumps, and have you singing “I’m Proud to be an American” long after the bang.

Here are some tips for the Fourth of July weekend at Stone Mountain Park:

  • Get there as early as possible. Once parking fills to capacity, all entrances will be closed.
  • Park attractions will open at 10:00 AM on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
  • Vehicle entry to the park is $10.00 for a one-day permit or $35 for an annual permit.
  • Coolers and blankets are allowed. Glass bottles and alcoholic beverages are not.
  • For park updates, call (770) 498-5690.
