With a touch of chill in the air, this weekend is the perfect time for a fun family day trip to Uncle Shuck’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Dawsonville. It’s just a short drive up GA-400 to the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains. While not yet at their peak, the changing leaves should still provide a scenic backdrop.

Your family can explore the corn maze, find the perfect pumpkins, shoot the corn cannon and enjoy great food. Uncle Shuck’s Maze is a 12-acre field of corn that has approximately four miles of twisting and turning trails. An average journey will take as little as 30 minutes to complete one maze, or as long as two hours to complete both mazes. Checkpoints are located throughout the mazes. The Corn Maze is $9, or you may want to purchase the Value Combo for a Hayride & the Corn Maze for only $12! (save $2). The daytime hayrides last about 20 minutes and travel along the bank of the Etowah River. Try the Corn Cannon for just $1 to shoot 3 ears of corn.

The Haunted Maze is a nighttime adventure through the corn patch, lit only by the clear blue glow of the moon. Flashlights are not allowed in the Haunted Maze during the haunt. Cost is $12 for the Haunted Maze, or enjoy a Value Combo with a Hayride Plus the Haunted Maze for only $15. All kids 12 and under must be accompanied in maze by a parent. The Haunted Maze starts at dark, and the last ticket is sold at 10:00 p.m. Open October 16, 17, 23, 24, 25, 30, 31. The evening hayride stops at a roaring bonfire where marshmallows and campfire songs are plentiful.

While at Uncle Shuck’s be sure to check out the huge pumpkin patch where you can find everything from pumpkins in every shape and size, colorful Indian corn, lots of gourds and even mini pumpkins.

There are lots of food options from which to choose, including hamburgers, chicken, hot dogs, bratwurst, popcorn, funnel cakes, caramel apples, chocolate covered frozen bananas, boiled peanuts, fresh baked goodies, candy and more. Hot and cold beverages are also available.
