President-Elect Obama's transition team is exploring new Internet based territory in their quest to govern well when they get their shot next January.

Yesterday the transition team blog posted a video invitation for citizens to send their thoughts on energy and the environment.

You can bet that they'll get an earful from me, but seriously, consider sending your ideas to them also. This is a manifestation of the bottom up, grassroots efforts that are changing the U.S. -- an attempt by the Obama administration to tap the effect described by David Sirota in his book The Uprising: An Unauthorized Tour of the Populist Revolt Scaring Wall Street and Washington.

We all know that top-down policy making is flawed. Take a chance on bottom-up.

I follow Colorado water issues at Coyote Gulch.
