The As Yet Unnamed Theatre Company begins their 13th Season with the musical Little Mary Sunshine with book, music, and lyrics by Rick Besoyan, on November 20, 21, 27, 28, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. and November 22, and 29, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at the MEX Theatre in the Kentucky Center For The Arts.

One of the most successful Off-Broadway productions running 1,143 performances, Little Mary Sunshine is a musical spoof of old-time favorites Rose Marie and Naughty Marietta with deliberately corny songs and naive situations. It pokes fun at all the clichés of the innocent musicals our grandparents enjoyed but with a fresh approach and flair. There are 24 musical numbers set in the Rocky Mountains with a cast of characters including Colorado Rangers, a Stalwart Captain, Indians, a lovely Mary, a chorus of simpering school girls, an operatic singer, a retired general, and a villainous Indian. The original production starred Eileen Brennan as “Little Mary”.

Tickets are $16.00. For reservations contact the KCA Box Office at 584-7777. For more information, please contact Sandy Richens Cohrs at (502) 445-3203 or email at mailto:ayutc@aol.com?subject=Reservations%20for%20Little%20Mary%20Sunshine or http://myspace.com/ayutc.
