It's not enough that EPCOT, Walt Disney's premiere futuristic theme park, is already ahead of its time and has a little bit of something for everyone. Throughout the year, it also hosts various special events to attract new visitors, spark new interests and keep culture and the seasons alive.
One of those events is the International Flower & Garden Festival, held every spring. Cast Members work for over 24,000 hours to decorate the park with flowers, gardens and topiaries shaped like your favorite Disney characters, and the festival also features live music and educational events. For example, you can explore Minnie's Magnificent Butterfly Garden or learn helpful gardening tips from top horticulturists during a weekend Garden Town Program. And at the American Gardens Theatre adjacent to the American Adventure in the World Showcase, you can catch music from the '60s and '70s in the Flower Power Concert Series.
You can even find plenty of garden tools and products to help you start or maintain your own garden at home.
The festival runs from now to May 16, 2010, so be sure to stop by if you'll be in the parks within the next couple of months. Events are included with admission to the park, but some events have limited availability.
