Drop by the Hyde Park Art Center this Sunday for a whole slew of FREE events.
It starts off with Second Sunday where Japanese puppeteer Noriyuki Sawa joins us for a special shadow puppets workshop; good fun for the whole family.
Then stick around for the Artists Run Chicago Digest book launch. The book, published by threewalls and Green Lantern Gallery is the official catalog for this summer's Artists Run Chicago exhibition. The book chronicles the liveliness and importance of Chicago's apartment galleries over the past 10 years.
Last but not least you can wrap up the day with an opening reception for two exhibitions. "(Re)Collect" features the work of Hyde Park Art Center faculty. "Close Encounters," also opening Sunday, is a collaborative, continent spanning endeavor, featuring artists from New Zealand and Chicago. Works in the show focus on celebrating cultural traditions while embracing multicultural inclusiveness.
