Members of the non-elite Colsons Truck Group studied, created and mastered art in various colleges in the 80s. They stumbled into the City of Big Shoulders and Hairy Armpits in the 90s, admiring each other’s canvases and clay in underground arenas and studio parties. Banding together as a group they exhibited their twisted art at the now defunct but infamous Art-O-Rama art gallery, The Bop Shop, and other fine Chicago counter-culture establishments.
The group moniker is named after member John Colson and his beloved red pickup truck. Members include John Colson, Rick Therrio, Joseph Crosetto, Peter Barnes, Patrick McDonald, Jimmy Pizzillo, Sandra Leonard, Chris Tedin, and Carla Winterbottom.
