When you can't get to New Orleans the next best thing is to celebrate Mardi Gras early at Denver's Wynkoop Brewing Company this week.
Thursday, February 19th marks the date for a special beer dinner at the Wynkoop Brewing Company in downtown Denver. They're celebrating a Mardi Gras Warm Up beer dinner for the first 60 people who sign up.
The New Orleans style dinner will begin at 6:30pm with the first pour of a golden spicy Belgian Tripel 6s before seating. Then the dinner will begin with tempting treats like smoked oyster etouffee and crawfish paired with a Milk Stout.
Wynkoop will then serve a classic gumbo with cornbread croutons and match that with a hop lover's Mile Hi.P.A.
The main course will feature blacken grouper with pork belly dirty rice and roasted green beans topped with a crab sauce paired with an oak aged Anniversary Fest ale.
To top off your evening, you will be served with a sweet potato pie wih beignets and chile chocolate dipping sauce for dessert paired with their Big Easy Black Voodoo Lager.
Reservations will be required so call quick. The cost is $35 per person plus tax and tip for the four course and four drink dinner. Call: 303-297-9999 or you can email them at banquests@wynkoop.com. Visit their web site for more event information.
While your at it, come back on Saturday to the Wynkoop for the annual Beer Drinker of the Year awards at 2pm.
