Summer may still be far off but that doesn't mean there are no beer fests in Colorado this time of year. This Friday, January 23rd, Denver will be host to it's first beer festival of the new year - the Winter Brew Fest 2009.
3rd Annual Winter Brew Fest
Fans of Denver's annual Summer Beer Fest will be pleased to know that the same organizers are once again hosting the winter beer fest this Friday near Invesco Field at the Mile High Station facilities on Lower West Colfax. The festival starts at 7:00pm sharp and runs through10:00pm. This year's Winter Brew Fest is now situated in a much larger facility to handle the anticipated crowd.
Tickets are $30 in advance or $35 at the door. A bit less than half of the available tickets are already sold for this event. Your ticket will get you unlimited samplings along with a souvenir glass. You'll be able to sample over 75 different beers from over 25 local and regional breweries. Live music will be playing and local artwork will be on display along with the festive atmosphere. Food will also be available for purchase on the premises.
Colorado beer fans were treated to the Big Beers festival in Vail two weeks ago but this festival is much closer to home. The warm weather this last week spoiled most of us but the cold weather will return this weekend and many will head indoors. So why not spend some of that indoor time at the festival?
A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Swallow Hill Music Association. Swallow Hill serves a large community with instruction and performance of musical art forms such as folk, blues, bluegrass, Celtic jazz, world, roots, and dance.
