Colorado brewery newsletter highlights for June 29 - July 5
I subscribe to as many Colorado brewery newsletters as I can get my hands on. It’s a great way to keep tabs on what’s happening in the “Napa Valley of Beer”. Here are a few of the highlights gleamed from the newsletters this week.

From the July 2008 Left Hand Brewing Company newsletter.
Left Hand Brewing and
DRAFT Magazine will host the 3
rd annual
Boulder County Brews Cruise on Wednesday, October 8
th, just one day before the start of the 2008 Great American Beer Festival in Denver. There will be three buses. Joining the cruise will be Oskar Blues, Boulder Beer, Avery Brewing, Redstone Meadery, Pumphouse Brewery and Stranahan’s Colorado Whiskey. Sign-ups start soon. See Left Hand Brewery web site for more details.
Left Hand’s new 60 barrel brewhouse is almost complete and with it will bring along some new beers. LH has plans to introduce a new IPA and even a Double IPA in the fall as one of the new brews. New brews in the 60 bbl setup should start around July 7th. Look for that near GABF time.

Each year, Denver-based
5280 Magazine releases its annual
Top of the Town issue honoring the best of Colorado's food, entertainment, art, sports and fashion culture. The 2008 Top of the Town issue has just come out, and it gives Oskar Blues Dale's Pale Ale the honor of Top Colorado Export.
5280 Magazine says:
“Lyons' Oskar Blues has gotten a lot of love over the years, gathering attention in the New York Times, Men's Journal and even on the Today Show. Unlike other spotlight grabbers - ahem, Britney Spears -- this attention has actually been earned. Quite simply, Dale's is the best beer - can or bottle. It's hoppy, strong but eminently drinkable. And now that Oskar Blues is distributing across the country, the rest of America gets to savor our finest beverage.”
From the Odell Brewing Company newsletter June 26, 2008:
