Colorado Beer Events and Festivals
Hey Beer Fans! Looking for a good place to relax and enjoy a good beer this weekend in Northern Colorado or the Mountains and have some fun at the same time?  Here are a few suggestions to keep in mind for your entertainment consideration.

The city of Evans is playing host to the annual Colorado Medieval Festival on June 6-8.  Come sample some authentic medieval beer recipies brewed up by the Fort Collins Brewery. Enjoy reenactments of Viking battles, listen to live music, eat some traditional medieval food and peruse through the many medieval vendors' wares. The festival starts Friday at noon and opens Saturday and Sunday at 10am.  Tickets are $10/adults and $5/kids.  More info at: coloradocastle.com

Civic Center Park in Denver will host the Capitol Hill People's Fair on June 7-8. Come to the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Broadway for a celebration of arts, crafts and entertainment.  Miller Lite is sponsoring the beer tents and plenty of food will be on hand.  The fair is FREE and runs from 10am-8pm. More info at: www.peoplesfair.com

Looking for a brewery tour with something extra?  The Anheuser Busch Brewery is sponsoring Budweiser Clydesdales Camera Day at their brewery in Fort Collins on Saturday June 7th from 1-3pm.  Come see the world famous Clydesdales and have your picture taken with them.  Then tour the brewery and sample some of their locally made beers. For more info call: (970) 490-4691.

If you're looking for some major league action and some great beer to boot, come watch the Colorado Rockies take on the Milwaukee Brewers at Coors Field.  Come early and sample some hand crafted beers at the Sandlot Brewery and then take your beer to your seat and cheer for your favorite team during the ballgame.  Coors Field has nearly two dozen varieties of beer to sample.  But you'll have to wander around the park a bit to find some of the more hard to find styles.  Then after the game, hang out in LoDo at some of the many brewpubs and watering holes including the Breckenridge Ball Park Brew Pub, Falling Rock Tap House, Great Divide Brewing, Wynkoop Brewing and the Denver Chop House and Brewery.  Ticket info at: www.coloradorockies.com.

For those of you wanting to head up to the mountains this weekend there are a couple of events.

On June 6-8 there will be plenty of beer flowing at the Telluride Jazz Celebration at the Telluride Bear Creek and Town Park Festival Grounds. This festival is sponsored by Amstel Light and Heineken beer.  The 31st annual festival will feature music of the Neville Brothers, Dr. John, McCoy Tyner and Maceo Parker.  One day passes are $45-$50 and a 3-day pass $115-$125.  More info at: telluridejazz.org

And as brother Eli, the Southern Colorado Beer Examiner, mentioned earlier, Snowmass will play host to the Chili Pepper & Brew Fest on June 6-8.  Check Eli's column for more info.

Before you head up to the hills this weekend looking for good beer and good fun, be sure to check out the road conditions on John the Denver Traffic Examiner's page.  Reports of sinkholes and massive boulders may cause you to reroute your driving plans.

Colorado Summer Beer Fests are in full swing now and there will be more coming soon. Keep checking the Northern Colorado Beer Examiner page for more events coming up next week.
