An opportunity for exercise and a chance to help out for a worthy cause are coming in one nice event.

Take Steps for Crohn’s & Colitis is the name of a walking fundraiser being held this Saturday, May 30th, at 4pm. This event is being held at Sertoma Park here in Sioux Falls, but will be one of 80 sites across the country where volunteers and fundraisers will be helping to raise funds.

The event is being held by the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, a non-profit that’s been active since 1967. The organization has raised over $127 million for research and is dedicated “to cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases,” according to the group’s website.

Fund-raising teams and individuals have been working to gather funds, and so far have gathered $11,058.88, putting them a little over halfway to their goal.

If you’d like to donate, you can still join a team, register as an individual, or make a donation through their website at www.cctakesteps.org.
