And so is Brooks, as it turns out. Actually, the parting of the songwriting duo is just around the corner.

Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn announced on their website, this month, that after 20 years of making music together they are going to call it quits. They have said that working as a duo has been more than they ever could have dreamed, but that it's time to "call it a day." We are also cautioned: "If you hear rumors, don't believe them, it's just time."

Brooks and Dunn plan to release one more album, do a final tour this year and then part ways. They will do so having earned 15 Top Vocal Duo awards from the Academy of Country Music, winning two Grammies and three American Music Awards, and being one of the few duos to be named Entertainer of the Year.

Although this great songwriting and performing duo will be sorely missed, I have to say that I personally understand their decision. They feel they've reached the end of this particular road. I wish them well, as individuals, in whatever they choose to do.
