I know the headline sounds a little confused, but that is actually correct. Dan Shafer presents his Rock and Load Show at the Hollywood Disco (formerly Code Blue) every other Tuesday during the month of March, starting on the March 3rd. Also, the Wild Horse Saloon will feature the show on March 25th.
Dan is a veteran singer, songwriter and producer whose long list of credits include working with talents such as Ronnie James Dio and Richie Blackmore (Rusty Daddio), Jerry Love (Paramount/Famous Music) and Bucket Colwell (Bad Company) just to name a few. His prolific work as a vocalist includes voice-overs and commercials, as well as arranging, producing and performing vocal work with other artists and producers from coast to coast. The hundreds of television and radio commercials that Dan is credited with include familiar names like Seagrams, Coors, Pizza Hut, AT&T, Revlon and even BC Powders.
The Rock and Load Show was born of Dan’s desire to make a difference, by raising the bar and creating a viable rock scene here in Nashville. By focusing on rock and roll, in a city dominated by the country market, it is hoped that the show will provide an outlet for new groups and veterans alike. The house band that Dan has put together is made up of seasoned veterans who certainly know their way around a rock song. You can be sure that the venue will be rocking from the first note.
Dan says, on the Rock and Load MySpace page, “It's all about the music, rock & roll, and Music City. Spread the word, real rock & roll is alive and well."
So, I’m spreading the word. See you there on March 3rd.
