Matthew 7:13 (King James Version):
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
The Lord has already said how to "make it," but you must be willing to qualify. A lot of people wants to go to heaven, but who's willing to "come out of darkness," to "die out" of self, the selfish attitude, the self-centeredness, always expecting things to go according to one's own plan, not willing to put up with suffering some form of hardship, not willing to pray fervently, making excuses for doing the "unnecessary," . . . not willing to suffer, period ! ! !
Contrarily, the "broadway" is for those who want "the easy way out," always desiring to have one's own way. Unfortunately, heaven is only designed for those who are "narrow" minded, those with the power of Christ whose minds are made up to become like him. Jesus didn't have a good time during his visit down here. But, there are those who still believe in a "free ride."
The Lord gives everyone the right to choose whom they'll serve, whether the gods of this world, or Christ. No one can have it both ways and expect his salvation. There's no straddling the fence in Christ Jesus, and being in his will. And if anyone feels otherwise, just seriously consider the consequences of going down that "broad" way. And, if one isn't too preoccupied in their own selfish way to take the Lord seriously, one just might count up the cost and reconsider becoming "narrow" minded . . . hopefully!
