As fans are getting geared up for this Saturday's preseason Seahawks' game against the Bears, many are planning how to actually get there.  For years Seattleites have enjoyed a $6 round-trip ride to the game courtesy of Metro Transit from several local Park-n-Rides.  Over 5,000 people per home game to be exact.  This year that luxury will be gone.  Why is this happening?

You can thank the Bush administration!  This year Bush's peeps began requiring public transit agencies, such as Metro, to step aside when private operators say they want to provide service. Starline Luxury Coaches of Seattle has done so this year.  Bye bye Metro.

The Seahawks rejected Starline's bid because it would have raised fares a ton and wouldn't have picked passengers at several previous locations.  However, since Starline is still interested, Metro can't step back in.  The result is that fans need to plan a new way to get to the games.

If you want to bus it, head over to Sound Transit's website or check out Metro's place on the web.  Then get ready to scream your head off 12th Man!  Go Hawks!
