Vermont Spirits
Vermont Spririts Gold and White Vodka

Vermont Spirits is taking the Vodka world by storm with their Vermont Spirits Gold  and Vermont Spirits White. What sets these two vodkas apart from other vodkas on the market? Pretty much everything. Most vodkas are made with corn and grains, Vermont Spirits makes its two distinct vodkas with the sugar from maple syrup (Gold) and pure milk sugar (White).

The triple distilled Vermont Gold is made with 100% maple sap and spring water. This gives it a distinct flavor. The maple marks its territory and doesn't waver, but caramel makes a strong stand. Initially it isn't as sweet as I imagined it would be, but the finish brings a satisfying almost candy like end. This is not a vodka I would normally consider mixing, but once I saw the recipes created for this vodka I changed my mind.

Liberation Libation

  • 2 oz Vermont Gold Vodka
  • ½ oz maple syrup
  • 1 ½ oz sparkling apple cider

Chill over ice, strain and serve up in a cinnamon sugar rimmed martini glass

Illumination

  • 1 ½ oz Vermont Gold Vodka
  • ¼ oz Navan Vanilla Liqueur
  • ½ oz Cointreau

Chill over ice, strain and serve up in a martini glass. Garnish with a twist of orange.

Baked Golden Apple

  •  ¾ oz Vermont Gold Vodka
  • 1 oz Eden Ice Cider
  • ¼ oz Goldschlager (just for sparkle)
  • ¾ oz apple cider

Serve on the rocks with an apple garnish.

The Vermont White is quadruple distilled using 100% milk sugar and spring water. I think the cow on the bottle may be a little misleading to some. This is a pure and clean vodka that does not have a dairy flavor to it. Initially it is a little medicinal but that quickly turns to a rich vanilla bean flavor. Like the Gold, I feel like this vodka is perfect in a martini glass, but the recipes I received really do enhance the vodka and make it even more versatile.

Vermont Milkshake

  • ¾ oz Vermont White Vodka
  • 1 ¼ oz Sapling Maple Liqueur
  • 1 ½ oz half and half

Shake over rocks and pour into a wine glass. Garnish with a drizzle of maple syrup and serve with a straw.

Elderflower Martini

  • 2 oz Vermont White Vodka
  • 1 oz St Germain Elderflower Liqueur
  • Squeeze of one lime wedge

Shake and strain over ice and serve in a martini glass. Garnish with lime wedge.

Vermont Sunrise

  • 2 oz Vermont White Vodka
  • 4 oz fresh squeezed pink grapefruit juice
  • splash of tonic

Serve over ice in a tall glass.

Both highly recommended. Find ordering information here.

Cheers!
