The makers of 1800 Tequila have launched a new Select Silver Premium Tequila. This 100% agave silver tequila has a 100 proof alcohol content, but does not reflect that in the taste. It was actually milder than I had anticipated. They also teamed up with rapper Rick Ross and his crew Triple C's to promote the spirit.
“Of all the tequilas out there, the 100 proof 1800 Select Silver is the ‘big boss’ and the only tequila I would put the Rick Ross name behind. 1800 Tequila is a brand I’m really excited to grind and build with, and as I keep pumping out the hits, topping the charts, and discovering new talent like my crew Triple C’s – 1800 Tequila will be rising to the top with me.”

As I've said before I am no fan of doing tequila shots. I feel that you loose the essence of the spirit. The flavor of the 1800 is impressive and would ultimately be missed shooting this down. I'm all for quality over quantity and this is a high quality tequila that should be sipped and enjoyed. Given the higher than normal alcohol content I also encourage respect (know your limits) when drinking this.
They have also created some fantastic cocktails that compliment this distinct tequila.
Pear Margarita
Combine the first four ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and pour into a lightly salted glass. Float with Chambord or Blue Curacao for a drizzle of colour.
Pomegranate Martini
Mix all in an ice filled shaker and strain into a sugar rimmed Martini glass.
Lychee Royale
Mix the three liquors in a mixing glass and the pour into a champagne flute. Top off with the chilled sparkling wine.
Cheers!
