Cruising with Cruzan on Tropical Thursday
This week I am featuring drinks made with Cruzan Rums. Both drinks feature a floater of their famous Black Strap Rum, think molasses meets rum. Yum!
Single N’ Stormy
- 2 oz Cruzan Single Barrel Rum
- 4 oz Ginger Beer or more depending on your taste
- fresh lime juice
- Cruzan Black Strap Rum
Mix the Cruzan Single Barrel rum with the chilled ginger beer. Add a squeeze of lime and gently stir. Top with a floater of the Cruzan Black Strap Rum.
Cruzan Bay Breeze
- 1 oz Cruzan Pineapple
- 1 oz Cruzan Coconut
- 3 oz Cranberry Juice
- 3 oz Pineapple Juice
In an ice filled shaker mix rums and juices. Strain into an ice filled collins glass and top with a floater of the Cruzan Black Strap Rum.
Cruzan offers the following flavored rums: Banana, Black Cherry, Citrus, Coconut, Guava, Mango, Pineapple, Raspberry, Vanilla, and Cream.
Here are some fun facts about Cruzan Rum:
- Fifth-largest and fastest-growing rum brand in the United States
- Cruzan rum has been produced on the island of St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands since 1760
- Cruzan is considered to be one of the “cleanest” rums on the market based on the brand’s distinctive distillation process. It is very low in Fusel oil.
- Cruzan mixes high quality molasses with tropical rainwater, which, through fermentation, is turned into alcohol.
- The rum is aged in oak barrels in open-air warehouse, accelerating the aging process and bringing the spirit to full maturity sooner.
FYI- I will be on vacation next week.
Cheers!
