Come join the crowds on Thanksgiving Day and view the historic Macy’s Day parade. The parade begins at 9 AM on 77th and Central Park West and ends mid afternoon at 34th St. and 7th Ave. after winding down the west side, around Columbus Circle and through Times Square. The parade will follow a new route this year and will unveil a new Santa sleigh as well as several new balloons including Spiderman and Ronald McDonald. Performers will include the Roots, the cast of Billy Elliot and the cast of Shrek. Macy’s recommends viewing the parade from Central Park West between 62nd St. and 72nd St.. If you want to view the parade live get there before 7 AM for a good spot and bring lots of warm clothes and hot drinks. Do not bring folding chairs.

If you simply want a good view of the balloons, head to the float assembly and balloon inflation on Wednesday November 25th. This event takes place outside the Museum of Natural History with public viewing from 3 PM-10 PM.
