The Minnesota Wild are one of eight teams that will compete in the 2009 NHL Prospects Tournament in Traverse City, Mich. Sept. 6-10.
The Wild will play in the Western Conference with the Columbus Blue Jackets, Dallas Stars and St. Louis Blues. The Eastern Conference will consist of the New York Rangers, Carolina Hurricanes, Detroit Red Wings and Atlanta Thrashers.
The Wild will play the first game of the tournament against the Blue Jackets on Sept. 6. The Blue Jackets are led by 2009 first round draft pick John Moore.
The Wild will play the Stars on Sept. 7. The Stars are led by a few prospects; goaltender Richard Bachman, defenseman Ivan Vishnevskiy and forwards Jamie Benn, Colton Sceviour and Scott Glennie.
The Wild will have a day off before playing the Blues on Sept. 9. The Blues' roster has not been announced.
After the conference round robin portion of the tournament, the first place teams in each conference will play in the championship on Sept. 10 while the second place teams will play for third, the third place teams will place for fifth and the fourth place teams will play for seventh.
The Wild will have 2008 first round pick defenseman Tyler Cuma. Also competing are other Wild draft picks.
