Those Budget Numbers Must Be Pretty Tough to Figure Out

Today Christine Gregoire told the Olympia press corps that she "wished to wait until her own Office of Financial Management analyzes the budget until anyone began to panic about the potential $2.7 Billion deficit."

Interesting point.

As was pointed out recently, we've been waiting on such analysis from Gregoire budget chief Victor Moor since February. Since that time, projected state revenues have shrunk and the Senate Ways & Means Committee's deficit projections have climbed.

Gregoire and her team can disagree with the Senate's number crunching methodology all they want, but sooner or later shouldn't they actually share with the public (and the press) the projections they've no doubt been working on for months?
