On your mark, get set... go!

Old # 23 is at the starting line and ready to go!

Barleywines are an old English farmhouse brewery tradition. These complex ales were reserved for special occasions and special people. Bristol's version has the depth and complexity of a good brandy or single malt scotch. It's not only an excellent example of the style, but also doubles as a tribute to some some special people - Ralph and Chandler Bruning, who brewed for Bristol as well as raced in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb (thus the #23 race car graphic on the label).

This year's batch of high-octane Old #23 will be given the green flag tonight at 5:00 pm. Snacks will be provided to soak up the extra ABVs in the tank.

Laura Long, Bristol's Beerocrat, is "giddy with anticipation."  And what about Head Brewer Joe Hull and the rest of the brew house guys? "Happy and a little scared".  Zoikes!  You're not going to want to miss this very special brew!
