The 3rd annual ACBF will take place on November 7, 2009

The third annual All Colorado Beer Festival will be a bit different this year. Instead of three sessions held over two days the festival is being trimmed down to a single day - Saturday, November 7, 2009.

As in years past the festival will be held at Mr. Biggs Event Center (5825 Mark Dabling Blvd.) in Colorado Springs. The first 4 1/2 hour sessions starts at Noon, while the second begins at 5:30 pm.

The price of admission ($30 at the door, $25 in advance; tickets can be purchased online) includes a tasting glass and all the 2-ounce samples you can responsibly consume. Each session features over 70 beers from more than 30 of the best Colorado brewers. There will also be food, brewer merchandise, and live music from great local bands. Military with a valid ID get in for the advance ticket price of $25. Designated Driver tickets are $10 (in advance or at the door) and includes unlimited soft drinks. All proceeds from the festival benefit THEATREWORKS, Home for Our Troops, and the Colorado Springs Independent's Give! Initiative!

If you're under 21don't bother trying to sneak in. All IDs will be checked at the door. Be sure to bring a valid government issued photo ID with you, otherwise you won't get in. Backpacks aren't allowed inside the venue, but those "super cool" fanny packs from the 1980's are. Warning:  don't wear a fanny pack - this is 2009, not 1989. Just stick your Beer Journal and what not inside your ladies' purse. Additionally, a coat check will be provided.A word of advice to all those procrastinators out there:  tickets will stop being sold online/by phone two hours prior to the start of each session. If you decide to go at the last second you'll have take your chance at the door. This event has sold out each of the last two years, and with it being whittled down to one day... don't push your luck.

Last year "People's Choice Award"s were given out to the best brewery during each session. The winners were: Trinity Brewing Company from Colorado Springs (Friday Session Winner); Rocky Mountain Brewery, also from Colorado Springs (Saturday AM Session Winner); and Twisted Pine Brewery from Boulder (Saturday PM Session Winner). Come out and vote for your fave!
