The Washington Convention Center

How about training up a bit before you tackle that Thanksgiving feast? Head on over to Mount Vernon Place in Washington, DC for the Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show this weekend.

To be held at the Washington Convention Center, the Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show will offer seminars, samples and amusement for everyone in the family. Over 250 exhibitors are scheduled to setup, and guests will have their choices to choose from among the finest appliance manufacturers, kitchen gadgets and other convenient options for making meal planning a little easier.

A wide variety of caterers, specialty food companies, party planners and chefs will make their way over to the Convention Center during this two-day event. Visitors will have the chance to taste and indulge in chocolates, decadent cocktails and many more delicious treats.

Popular local and nationally renowned celebrity chefs will give seminars and demonstrations. On the guest list, you can expect to find: Paula Deen, Giada De Laurentiis, Guy Fieri and many other Food Network stars. Tyler Florence and Cork Wine Bar will be leading wine seminars, and Pat and Gina Neely of Neelys Live will offer up their famous barbeque at their VIP Memphis Style BBQ Picnic and Book Signing.

Other celebrities to grace the Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show include: DC’s renowned chefs Todd Thrasher and Cathal Armstrong. Chef Richard Blais, a Top Chef Season 4 Contestant, will also make a guest appearance.

Children and adults alike will enjoy the Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show. Little ones can sign up for special hands-on activities, classes and more at the Domino Sugar Just For Kids Area. No matter what your age, anyone can be a chef.

The Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show will be going on Nov. 7 through 8 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Admission is $20 in advance for adults and $25 at the door. Children ages 4 to 12 pay $10 in advance and $13 at the door. Children younger are permitted for free.
